While it might not be what we want to hear, it is necessary to know what they really feel about us. This way, we can understand truthfully why that relationship isn’t working out. Often times we even lie to ourselves about the veracity of the relationship due to our wants & not our needs. He showed you who he was & you did right by hitting the road. Good for you. Many can’t just walk away, because the heart strings are being pulled. Also, stupidity is the foundation of “born wrong” if only he knew….;)

Especially lines like the one you quoted: “Oh Nathasha, you are different! You are not really physically disabled!” Translation: “Even though I know you, and you defy these stereotypes, I’d rather think of you as an exception to the rule rather than revise my outdated ideas about disabled people at large.”

I think people are always going to look at the disabled as 2nd rate citizens. You werent born wrong. You are an amazing strong lady. People’s opinions are never going to change unless they want to.
