This article resonated with me for sure. People keep seeming to find it easier to disengage from politics they think won't affect them, and its almost always at the expense of others. Sometimes I feel like being both queer and disabled has kept me caught up with politics in ways people around me don't seem to be, at least a bit more unable to disengage the way they can. Everything affects me, my life, my future, so it is difficult to understand how even my own loved ones could keep conceding to compromises that will put me (sometimes them as well) in jeopardy. It gives me some hope to see others calling out things I've been trying to say. Too many times I keep hearing that I'm just being overly concerned about what comes next or whats happening now, how its out of my hands. People can't back down now, I feel like everything people spent decades fighting for has been up in the air (in a very horrifying way) since Roe v Wade was officially overturned, and we keep sidelining the thought to some degree.
