My Skin Changed. This Face Oil Rose to the Occasion.

Disclosure: I received this product as a gift from a friend. All opinions are my own.

For most of my life, my skin and I had an understanding. I took care of it, and it behaved.

If you’ve read my article, “Why Skin Care Is More Than Beauty,” then you already know skincare has been part of my life since I was a little girl. Trying new products is fun, but taking care of my skin has never been a trend for me. It’s simply part of who I am.

Then menopause came in and decided to renegotiate the whole arrangement. Nobody asked me. Nobody asked for that.

Throw in a Miami summer where I’ve spent more time doing laps in the pool than resting in my bed, and my once perfectly normal skin suddenly turned thirsty. Not flaky. Not irritated. Just dry enough that my regular routine stopped cutting it.

That’s when MALIN+GOETZ Recovery Treatment Oil entered my life.

I’ll admit it: when I hear the word “oil,” I think heavy, greasy, shiny in all the wrong places. This is none of that.

The first thing I noticed wasn’t that my skin looked different. It was that it felt different. Comfortable. The tightness disappeared, and my skin finally felt like it had enough moisture in it again.

My favorite way to use it is after my serum. I warm a few drops between my hands and press it into my face instead of rubbing it in. It absorbs beautifully, leaves behind a healthy glow instead of an oily finish, and manages to make my skin feel soft without feeling like there’s anything sitting on top of it. It’s become the step in my routine I actually look forward to.

I also want to talk about the bottle itself, because it’s part of the experience. For me, it’s easy to use. But the dropper releases the oil quickly, so don’t fill it all the way up, a couple of drops is plenty, and you’ll waste product if you’re not paying attention. If you have limited fine motor skills, this dropper might take some getting used to. I won’t pretend otherwise. But if you can manage it, it is so worth the effort.

Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Yes, it’s expensive.

At around $84 for a one-ounce bottle, this isn’t an impulse buy. But here’s my philosophy: I don’t mind paying for something that earns a permanent place in my routine. A few drops are all I need, so the bottle should last a while. Sometimes the products that seem expensive at first are the ones that give you the best value, because you actually use every last drop.

Another reason this one gets bonus points from me: MALIN+GOETZ is vegan and certified cruelty-free through PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program. I always appreciate a company that proves you don’t have to test on animals to create an exceptional product.

One thing I want you to know before you click “Add to Cart.” The formula contains several essential oils, including lavender, geranium, grapefruit, lime, and spearmint. They create the light botanical scent, but if your skin is extremely sensitive, if you have rosacea, or if you’ve reacted to essential oils before, do a patch test first. Better safe than sorry.

As for me? My skin has entered a new chapter of life, and apparently, so has my skincare routine. This little bottle has officially earned a permanent spot on my bathroom counter.

And it’s not just a summer fix. Dry skin doesn’t check the calendar. Winter air dries you out just as fast as a Miami pool day does, and spring and fall have their own ways of leaving your skin unbalanced. This is the kind of product that earns its spot in your routine year-round, not just when the season makes it obvious.

If your skin has suddenly gone drier because of menopause, sun, chlorine, or simply life doing what life does, this may be exactly the drink of water your face has been asking for.

Diva Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sometimes the best beauty products aren’t the ones that promise miracles. They’re the ones that quietly make your skin happy every single day.

And this Malin+Goetz Recovery Treatment Oil does exactly that.
